The performance is part of the School of Visual and Performing Arts Faculty Artist Concert Series and is free and open to the public.

Boldin, who plays the horn, will perform severalworks by 20th and 21st-century composers.

"I really enjoy finding and exploring new music," says Boldin, "and just because a work is new doesn't mean it can't be accessible and beautiful."

Marks will also be performing a variety of works from the 20th and 21st centuries, including the Louisiana premiere of David Wilborn’s “Concertino” for trombone and piano.

Concerning this work, Marks says, “While most pieces show the trombone’s virtuosity in the upper register, this new composition by Mr. Wilborn highlights the trombone’s capabilities in the lower register. It’s a real treat for a recital program.”

In addition to their recital at 91AV, Boldin and Marks will perform and present master classes at the University of Kentucky and Ohio University.
