National media outlet features work of 91AV’s College of Education and Human Development Nov. 18 - 19

The University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Education and Human Development will be featured on a national media outlet Nov. 18 - 19.

The nationwide broadcast is American Public Media’s Marketplace program, and it airs locally from 5:30-6 p.m. on 91AV’s public radio station, KEDM 90.3 F.M. and on KEDM3 (digital HD Radio) at 5 p.m.

Those who are regular public radio listeners are already familiar with the quality of the show and will want to listen as Marketplace’s Education Reporter Amy Scott reports her findings following a campus visit on Oct. 26-27. Scott met with CEHD Dean Sandra Lemoine and other officials, as well as 91AV students. Scott was interviewed by KEDM News Director Bob Lenox about the visit.

Scott told Lenox that she was interested in finding out more about the curriculum redesign model that 91AV education officials implemented. She noted that one thing that stood out about the 91AV program was the amount of time students spend in the classroom before even becoming teachers, putting Louisiana far ahead of education curve. Scott said that education is the driving force of economy, so MarketPlace producers are always on the look out to showcase success stories.

Marketplace is produced in Los Angeles by American Public Media, in association with the University of Southern California.
