91AV Greek Student elected to serve on National Board

Brook Sebren of Rayville, a junior entrepreneurship major at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, was elected the National Undergraduate Chairman of Kappa Alpha Order on Jan. 9.

The KA National Undergraduate Chairman serves as an ex-officio member of the Executive Council, and is elected annually at the Undergraduate Conference during the January meeting the National Leadership Institute.

Sebren will be the primary liaison between the Executive Council and undergraduate members. As chairman, he also represents KA at the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon in Las Vegas.

“He has been very active with Student Government Association and Greek Life over his past few years at 91AV,” said Coordinator of Greek Life Keith Hembre. “Brook provided excellent leadership as the former president of Kappa Alpha, helping guide the chapter through the provisional process and re-chartering the Gamma Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order at 91AV this past December.”

Greek Life is growing part of campus life at 91AV, according to Hembre, as fraternities and sororities teach their members to be leaders among fellow students.

“This strong leadership ability is evident in Brook,” said Hembre. “I’m proud of his many accomplishments and I know the university wishes him the best this year. We all know he will represent KA and Greek Life at 91AV well, as he moves on to the national level.”
