Sharma’s 91AV students donate needed items to Monroe battered women’s shelter

91AV associate professor of social work and gerontology Dr. Anita Sharma’s Family Violence and Social Work Practice class (SOCW 403) recently completed a project for “Make a Difference Day.”

On April 14, Sharma’s class brought donated items to the local Monroe shelter for battered women. Items included a variety of clothing, linen and toiletries, diapers, wipes, food, and other useful items that a woman and her children would need after leaving an abusive home.

Sharma is advisor of Chi Beta Social Work Honor society, which also contributed to the project.
