President of 91AV to Conduct Monroe Symphony Orchestra

As a part of their season of guest conductors, the Monroe Symphony Orchestra is performing this Saturday, May 8th at 6 p.m. in Kiroli Park, in West Monroe. Several 91AV professors are involved with the orchestra and for this weekend's event, 91AV President James Cofer will be conducting the "Colonel Bogey March." Also on hand will be conductor Israel Getzov of Little Rock, Ark.

The 91AV professors who are a part of the Monroe Symphony include: Dr. Chris Thompson, first violin section; Mark McCleary, principal cellist; Myron Turner, associate conductor, tuba, double bass; Marilyn Gibson, principal trumpet; David Gibson, principal bassoon; Dr. Sandra Lunte, principal flute; Victoria Valenzano, flute section; Larry Anderson, principal percussion, tympanist; Dr. Rebecca Dodson-Webster, principal horn; Dr. Robert Blaine, principal trombone; Darryl Wolgemuth, percussion; Dr. Mel Mobley, percussion; Coralie White, piano, keyboards.
